A simple to use app that enables you to annotate, organise and view your bird photographs. A gallery of thumbnail images produces an engaging way for you to view and access your collection.
The app is aimed at people who photograph birds, usually using a DSLR, as a way of recording observations.
Main features:
- Create thumbnails of your photographs by cropping the most appealing part of an image to appear in your gallery.
- Record information about sightings: location, GPS position, date and time, comments.
- Add information about the birds in your photographs using the Clements Checklist of Birds of the World which is integrated into the app.
- Show images full screen, zoom and drag to look at areas of particular interest.
- View two images simultaneously to enable comparison. Are they the same bird? Whats the difference between two birds? Compare adult and juvenile, male and female, breeding and non breeding plumage.
- Split screen view showing one of your images and a web browser allowing you to compare your image with images you find on the internet. Great for identifying birds you are not familiar with.
- Sort your thumbnail gallery by English name, scientific name, family, date observed or location.
- Get statistics about your photograph collection, for example number of photographs, number of birds, number of families etc.
- Produce an audio reminder of a sighting, this is particularly useful in the field where you may not be able to type accurately. This can also be used to record bird calls.
